The CIPD’s recent report on workplace conflict states that one in four people have an ongoing difficult relationship with someone they work with. It also claims that one in ten employees leave their job as a result of conflict with other members of staff.
ACAS states that “Dealing with conflict at an early stage to nip it in the bud and stop the situation developing into a full-blown dispute will save time, money and stress later on, for both the employer and employees.”
Managers can be trained to fulfil an important role in diffusing issues early on before they escalate to and impact on employee well-being or the business.
