The client  

IPP makes it easier for companies to trade internationally by managing the production and distribution of marketing material through a worldwide network. Their services simultaneously save their clients time and money and reduce their potentially negative impact on the environment.

In this highly competitive market IPP has to provide the highest levels of customer service and must continuously develop its offering to maintain market share.

 

The need

The MD needed to find more time to dedicate to strategic issues and he wanted to minimise his involvement with operational issues. He felt his team could do more if he built their confidence and capabilities and helped them to work together better.

 

The solution

Since enhanced team performance begins with the individuals in a team, TLH recommended using the Team Management System (TMS) . The detailed individual profiles produced using TMS help people to understand where their strengths lie and their unique team contribution. With the insights gained from the profiles and the support provided by TLH, it became clear how individuals and the team could perform better. Everyone committed to implementing the initial action plan which was subsequently generated to bridge these performance gaps on their return to work.  

 

The results

  • The MD spends much more time thinking about the future and much less time on day to day issues
  • Motivation and productivity has increased as the workload was reorganised to match individual’s strengths and interests better
  • Team members have taken on additional responsibility and grown in skill and confidence
